At MoneySupermarket Group our brands are used by most UK adults and we know over half of them.  Customer understanding through big data and analytics is at the heart of everything we do at the MoneySupermarket Group.

We are investing in a multi-year programme to utilise open source and best of breed technologies including Talend for ETL, Vertica for Data Warehousing, R, Spark, and Python for data mining and Tableau for data visualisation to develop the UK’s biggest and most comprehensive data asset.

Working within the Group Data function which incorporates data engineers, analysts and scientists, successful candidates will be responsible for working with different areas of the organisation to collaboratively deliver new data solutions and enhancing existing ones on our state of the art cloud based digital platform.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE:

As a Data Quality Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to ensure optimal performance, accuracy, functionality, compliance, security and reliability of all solutions developed within the Analytics Data Engineering. This applies to testing of new changes and ongoing quality assurance on existing solutions.

You will play a key role in assisting the project team to produce high quality work effectively and efficiently. You will also be expected to provide specialist QA knowledge and support for your team and other testers as required.

You will ensure risk is continually minimised and that the live systems and data sources are constantly protected through identification and execution of adequate testing.

You will ensure thorough understanding of all proposed changes in order to identify requirements, and will plan and execute various types of testing effectively and efficiently to provide consistent, highly dependable solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring scripts, processes and procedures remain accurate and valid at all times and that ongoing Quality Assurance measures are executed, analysed and enhanced at all times. 

As Data Quality Analyst, you will display proficiency in analysing test results, translating them into meaningful data, and communicating a clear, concise conclusion. You will also demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in ensuring all team goals, are achieved.

The role will involve liaison with all sections of the business and IT, and will require active participation in daily stand-ups to improve communication and maximise productivity. You will build and maintain close working relationships with your colleagues and other stakeholders to maximise the success of the team. You will also seize opportunities to expand your knowledge and skill in other areas, as well as increase capability within the team. MAIN ACTIVITIES/TASKS:

-       Create, plan and execute appropriate test plans for all types of change.

-       Perform various types of testing to maintain a stable environment including, but not limited to, Data Quality assurance, performance testing, deliverability.

-       Execute test plan, document issues and defects, including relevant brief descriptions of the issue with detailed steps to replicate.

-       Create ongoing quality assurance metrics and monitor its results to ensure the reliability of all the solutions developed.

-       Track defects to resolution, perform root cause analysis and provide testing metrics for continuous quality improvement.

-       Continuously identify, discuss and implement test improvements and Quality Assurance metrics to maximise effectiveness and efficiency within the team.

-       Monitor and report on test performance making recommendations and improvements where necessary.

-       Improve quality of change delivered by ensuring close collaboration with relevant parties.

-       Build and maintain effective working relationships and close communication with colleagues and other areas of the business.

-       Adhere to MSM Quality Assurance standards, but utilise own judgment to question and offer improvements where appropriate.

-       Create and maintain test documentation, including scripts (automated and manual), processes and procedures.

-       Increase capability within the team by sharing test knowledge amongst colleagues.

-       Provide test support and knowledge to team and others members of development as required.

-       Assist other roles within the team were required to ensure continuous flow of work.

-       Escalate issues appropriately.

-       Demonstrate enthusiasm for task in hand and eagerness to impart knowledge to others.

ACCOUNTABILITY/RESPONSIBILITY :

This role offers the opportunity to work in the Analytics Data Engineering team. As a member of the Group data function, the role will significantly contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of new projects and changes for the business. The role involves interaction with many teams across the company, including various business areas, Service Delivery and IT Operations.
